Do I have DepressionIf your body mass index (BMI) is over 30 and you are a woman, there is some bad news on 2 fronts. Women who are depressed after the age of 40 are twice as likely to be obese.

Not a great piece of information, huh?  Unfortunately it works in reverse too.  Unfortunately, women who are obese tend to be depressed too.

Sorry for all the sobering news, but obesity and depression seem to play a role in middle-aged women more than any other time in your life.

In a study done in the Pacific Northwest, 4462 women aged 40 to 65 participated in an obesity study.  It was found that women who suffered from obesity and depression had to deal high medical bills too.

Obesity Health Risks

The common theme associated with BMI for women (greater than 30) was:

  • You exercise less
  • You eat 20% more calories


Do I Have Depression

Self-esteem is one of the biggest issues women face.  It sabotages your effort to lose weight.  Most of the women in this group know exactly what is going on, but they feel a sense of hopelessness.

Removing that feeling of hopelessness it a key factor in being able to lose tummy fat or belly fat.  A good starting point is to build your desire to succeed.  When this happens, you win!
