Ditch The Sugar And Eat Healthy Snacks

Ditch the “S” word (sugar) and eat healthy snacks for weight loss

You should probably eat 5-6 times a day so you might as well eat healthy snacks for weight loss

Something has been gnawing at me today and I seem to be stressed out about it.  You know what that means?

Yep, you unconsciously start eating junk food.  Why?  Your emotional brain loves directing traffic and it knows you love to be in a safe zone.

Cookies are not healthy snacks for weight loss

Nothing beats junk food when you’re stressed out, right?  The good news is I caught myself before I got started.  You know what I did?  I drank a big glass of water and that did absolutely NOTHING!

But, the fact that I caught myself was huge.  I drank the water quickly and I wasn’t craving the Snickers bar.  I have been eating plenty of healthy snacks for weight loss and I knew today couldn’t be any different.

Healthy snacks for weight loss go good with water

Okay, if you would’ve heard me tell this story a month ago, no doubt, the wrapper of that king-sized Snickers bar would have been destroyed instantly.

If you’re anything like me and you are looking for the quickest way to lose belly fat, and a Snickers bar is not part of the program.  You know it and I know it, but it’s just so darn good.

Why find the quickest way to lose belly fat?

Belly fat is extremely dangerous if you are overweight or obese.  You might think it’s no different than other parts of your body, but here’s the skinny on belly fat:

  • Leads to insulin resistance (sugar level is out of control)
  • Will lead to diabetes (you don’t want what comes with this)
  • Creates metabolic disease (diabetes and heart disease)
  • Leads to more medical bills

Okay, you get the point.  Belly fat is not your friend, never was, never will be.  Kick sugar to the curb and start adding healthy snacks for weight loss to your daily routine.

Sugar is not a healthy snack for weight loss

The symptoms of obesity are not pretty, but there are some simple things you can do.  Start by compiling a list of low gi foods that will be good for you.

Low glycemic index foods help regulate your blood sugar level much better than junk food or sugar ever would.  Here’s a great example:

  • GI number = 40 for 1 medium Orange
  • GI number = 48 or 8 ounces of Orange Juice

There’s not a big difference between these 2 healthy products, but there is a difference.  What about my beloved Snickers bar?

  • GI number = 68 for 1 Snickers bar
