What Results Will Be Achieved Eating High Protein, Low Carb Foods?

When followed properly, a high protein diet for weight loss can be very successful because:

  • Food cravings are reduced
  • These diets leave you feeling less hungry than high carb diets
  • False hunger pangs will be reduced or eliminated
  • Blood sugar levels don’t go up and down like a Yo-Yo

Phase 1 of the Atkins Diet limits you to 20 grams of carbs per day.  Do you know how much 20 grams of carbs really is?

There’s a pretty good chance you are eating these foods or similar type foods.  You can see how easy it is to get ambushed with simple food items like these.  You’re also going to experience some side effects in Phase 1 of this diet that include:

  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Fatigue
  • Weakness

Just like any diet, you have a real chance to lose weight.  The biggest challenge with eating high protein low carb foods is B-O-R-E-D-O-M

Even if you are a carnivore, after a couple of weeks, you will be craving carbs like there’s no tomorrow.  This is exactly the point where you start cheating.

As you saw from the list of goodies mentioned earlier, it doesn’t take much to add a lot of carb grams to your diet quickly.  Watch yourself closely as you enter the maintenance phase even though you get more carbs, it can be a challenge.
